The Man, The Myth, The Legend

Last night was FANTASTIC!!!!! I found out there is a very good possibility that Bob Seger will be going on tour to promote his new album "Face the Promise". He currently has a song from his new CD on the radio and I am sure that many of you have heard it, titled "Wait for me". Which is a song about his kids and is nothin but pure Seger!!! This is his first new material in over a decade and it has been a long time comin' let me tell ya! This is huge!!!

I cannot even begin to explain to everyone the pure joy and excitement that I am feeling right now. I spoke with my Uncle and he agrees that he will be going on tour. We have already decided that we will be going together, with Drew and my brother, to watch the master work his magic.

His new CD is coming out September 12th and he will be making an appearance on Jay Leno September 14th. So, if there are any Seger fans out there reading (and really, how can you not be a Seger fan) get out there and buy the CD and let him know that we need to see him just one more time!!!!!!!!

Thursday Evening and other such nonsense

Last night we went to BW3's for their Trivia Night and thanks to me, we placed 2nd.

Q - What is the correct name for a group of whales

A - IT IS NOT HERD!!!!! (however, if you answered Pod than you are correct-a-mundo)
The only thing that I have to say is this...

I am sorry, so sorry, Mike. Can you ever forgive me???

While we were there, Drew could not remember a quote by WC Fields. I looked it up today so that I could post it and found that I really, really like this Fields character and need to learn a whole hell of a lot more about him. Who, Drew this is for you, said this.....

"Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water."

This man and I would have gotten along GREAT not just b/c of the previous statement but for these....

  • Ah, the patter of little feet around the house. There's nothing like having a midget for a butler
  • I am free of all prejudice. I hate everyone equally.
  • I feel like a midget with muddy feet had been walking over my tongue all night.
  • If at first you don't succeed, try again. Then quit. There's no use being a damn fool about it.

A midget for a butler? Hating everyone? Quitting, just out of plain laziness? Is it possible that I am the reincarnate of WC Fields? Could he be some long lost relative? Regardless, this guy was a GENIUS and I am just finding out about it???

So, I am officially on a quest and if anyone has anything to offer (like a book I should pick up or a website) let me know....

I am out

Have a bitchin' weekend!

Not as good as it once was...

This past weekend we met Drews family in Hot Springs, AR for a little fun, sun and relaxation. We went to the Bathhouses, went shopping afterwards and for dinner we went to an Italian restaurant for dinner (which was surprisingly good). My only problem is this; Hot Springs is a dirty and unkept town. On Central Ave, about a 1/4 mile from Bathouse Row you see a sign for "Strip Karaoke" WTF is that about? Who has ever heard of such a thing? More importantly why would the town want that type of establishment that close to their moneymaker? Who the hell knows? Oh wait, that's right, I forgot It's Arkansas. Where first cousins can fall in love and get married (legally). Anyway, my point is, you would think that they would have put forth a little effort and restricted the type of businesses in that area.

The bathhouse's are the best part of Hot Springs, and quite frankly, the only reason that you would want to go there. The Buckstaff is the only functioning Bathhouse in America and it is also the oldest. It is the best two hours I have had in a long time and it is so relaxing, you are loose as a goose by the time you walk out of there. Very, very nice... except for the fact that you are in AR.

Next weekend we are going to the Lake of the Ozarks and going shopping... YEAH!!!

Ignorance is at an all time high

My buddy John has a blogsite, and in his first entry he makes a very bold statement:
"I am convinced that 95% of the population are complete idiots. This blog is for the other 5%."
I must admit that after the past few days I concur my friend, I concur.

25 would be Terrorists were arrested last week at Heathrow Airport, they were attempting to board 9 planes headed for the US in a "dry run". In a scramble to control the obviously elevated level of tension, the FAA made a decision to NOT allow any liquids in your carry-on luggage. Great! I have no problem with that. Anything that makes our airways safe I will support. That night, I'm watching the local news and they have this nitwit complaining that he has to throw away his toothpaste and that this has all gone too far and Big Brother is here to stay. WTF???? What does Big Brother have to do with Terrorism? What does Big Brother have to do with 9/11? How much did that damn tube of toothpaste cost you? Is it worth your life? I don't think so. STUPID PEOPLE

This weekend a woman in McNairy County took her baby over to a friends home to "visit" and decided to leave the infant in the car, with the car running and the air conditioner on. Said car overheated, the air conditioning started blowing hot air and the baby died. WTF??????? What possessed you, you lazy piece of shit, to not bring your child inside in 100 degree weather? Would you have liked to have been out there in that weather? Do you not understand the magnitude of a heat warning? STUPID PEOPLE

A man in a suburb of New York decided that some fried Kitten sounded good and threw five kittens into a frying pan (which by the way had pork chops in it). An Animal Rights officer on scene said that it was the worst case of animal abuse he had seen in twenty years. WTF????? Way to go, you have managed to piss off the whole country (at least those that heard about it) It's a kitten for the love of God, it weighs 6 f**kin' ounces, what would possess you to be that hateful? You are obviously deeply disturbed and I hope to all that is holy that they put you in the general public and you are repeatedly beaten and raped. (Harsh, I know but think about how harmless a kitten is) STUPID PEOPLE

I'm done

Love thy Neighbor (and their dogs)

So for the past week we have been watching our neighbors dogs while they are on vacation. It has been hell week, all week. They have been incessantly barking at night, when they should be sleeping, they are disrupting the neighbors and more importantly; ME. So, last night we decided to let them sleep inside. That was a mistake. A BIG MISTAKE! We put the older one in the laundry room, b/c he has bladder issues and about 3am he decided he wanted out in a big way. Well, when he started barking the rest followed!

Let me explain something to everyone that may not understand, I am not a happy camper when I wake up and especially when I am awakened by barking dogs! So, Jackpot got booted outside. Well, the other two at this point decide that it is time to wake up for the day and start rough housing.

Well, because of this I have made an executive decision. We will not be having children for sure. If I cannot handle taking care of a barking dog at 3am than I am sure as hell not prepared for a crying baby. Besides the fact, that Drew feigned sleep and refused to move much less get up and help me with the ruckus going on downstairs.

I can't wait for the neighbors to get back!

Those were the days

This past weekend our buddy Steve from KC came down to visit and we had a blast. On Friday the boys went golfing and surprise, surprise they did not come home trashed. I think that may have had more to do with the heat than me telling them to behave.

Friday night we went out with Tim and Lisa and they were the only two that behaved, the rest of us decided to stay up until 4 or 5 in the morning. I have come to realize something very important about myself, I can no longer do that, I am too old and set in my ways for anything that daunting.

Saturday we hung around the house and the boys did their thing (drank beer and hung out by the pool) while I tried to get rid of the monstrous headache I had. Steve bought us a great bottle of scotch so Sat. night we had a steak dinner and drank it for dessert (I had 2). All in all it was a great weekend and Sunday afternoon came way too early when we had to take Steve to the airport.

Here are some of the highlights of that weekend
"Let me put it to you this way..."
"Babycakes"
Anything else that may have happened has either been forgotten or those braincells were simply killed off. The whole "thinning of the herd" idea.

All in all we had a great weekend and it makes me miss the good times that we had in KC, it makes me even miss Big Al, a little bit... but not much

These are a few of my least favorite things - Part II

This is in no particular order

Mel Gibson - You Anti-Semitic Asshole. All you have managed to do was put Catholicism in a bad light with your f**ked up views and that weird little church in the hills that you built, but no one is allowed to attend. You have taken up way too much time and I am sick of looking at your mug shot on MSNBC. Let me be the first one to remind you of this little tidbit. Jesus was a Jew!

Small Talk - As of this day forward I am no longer participating in small talk. If you do not want to listen to my answer, than don't ask "how are you doing". I don't ask a lot of people that question b/c, quite frankly, I don't care. Those precious moments that are lost asking losers how there day is going could be spent in much better ways like watching MSNBC discuss that anti-Semite Mel Gibson.

Lifetime - They have taken The Golden Girls off the air. I am distraught. This is now my full second day without and something has gotta give. I am thinking about starting a petition to have them put it back on the air. But to to be brutally honest I think I might be too lazy...
